Comprehensive Eye Exams at Diplopia: Thorough, Personalized, and Stress-Free

At Diplopia, we believe that your eye exam should be more than just a routine check-up—it should be a comprehensive and comfortable experience. Led by Dr. Kyser, our team uses cutting-edge technology to ensure that you receive the most thorough eye health assessment without unnecessary discomfort.

What to Expect from Your Comprehensive Eye Exam

Your exam at Diplopia will include a wide range of diagnostic tests to assess your vision and eye health, including:

  • Visual Field Screening: Checks your peripheral vision.

  • Apollo Tear Film Analysis: Measures tear breakup time and checks for ocular surface health.

  • iCare Tonometer: The test to measure eye pressure and screen for glaucoma—no uncomfortable air puff involved!

  • Blood Pressure Check: Helps screen for hypertension which can affect eye health.

  • Retinal Imaging: Provides a detailed view of your retina, often eliminating the need for dilation.

  • Color Vision, Stereo Vision, and Visual Acuity Testing: Ensures your color perception, depth perception, and sharpness of vision are all functioning well.

  • Refraction: determines the best prescription for glasses or contact lenses.

  • Slit Lamp Examination: Assesses the health of the front of the eye

Dilation is available if needed but is typically unnecessary due to the advanced retinal imaging technology we use. This means no blurry vision for hours after your exam—just a thorough assessment without the inconvenience.

NuLids Cleaning for Enhanced Accuracy

At the beginning of every comprehensive exam, we offer NuLids cleaning for an additional $50. Think of it like seeing the hygienist before the dentist—cleaning the ocular surface improves the tear film, giving us the most accurate reading for your refraction and prescription.

Annual Exams for Optimal Health

We recommend that patients have their eyes checked annually unless a disease process requires more frequent visits. A comprehensive eye exam can do more than detect vision problems—it can help identify systemic conditions like diabetes or hypertension, which often show early signs in the eyes. Early detection is key to managing these conditions and preserving your overall health.

Screening for Chronic Eye Diseases

During every comprehensive eye exam, we screen for all major chronic eye conditions, including:

By using advanced diagnostic tools, we ensure that any potential issues are caught early, so you can take action to protect your vision.
